National Solo Tech Inspection and Check-In will occur at the Lincoln Driver's Center unless specified elsewhere in the event details. Look for the SCCA-branded canopies set up near the Region trailer.

TECH INSPECTION:

A Chief Technical Inspector (CTI) will be appointed as per the National Solo Rules, Section 5.6. The role of the CTI will be to oversee the process and if needed conduct additional inspections of vehicles.

A Self-Tech Inspection form will be available online before the event as well as on-site. The tech form can be found on this page in the section located on the right side of the page or below this dropdown if on mobile that also contains links to online registration, live timing, and worker descriptions. Simply download the form and print a copy to bring with you to the event – ONE FOR EACH DRIVER.

  1. Each driver will complete the form by conducting a self-tech of their vehicle when parked in the paddock, warranting that their car is compliant with the SCCA Solo Rules. If there are two or more drivers using the vehicle, a completed form is needed for each driver.
  2. While still in the paddock, the class designation and numbers will be placed on the vehicle. If the driver has them at this time, also place on the vehicle any SCCA-required decals and appropriate contingency decals. All SCCA-required decals and some contingency decals are available at Tech Inspection. (NOTE: Additional information about SCCA-required decals and their placement can be found in the “Vehicle Eligibility & Information” section)
  3. When the above items are completed, the driver takes the vehicle, their helmet, and the completed Self-Tech Inspection form to Tech Inspection. Co-driver helmets and completed Tech forms can be brought to Tech Inspection at this time as well.
    • The driver gives their Self-Tech Inspection form to the CTI, or their designee, and shows them their helmet to verify that helmet requirements are met and issue necessary decals (Solo 2025 or barcode). The helmet will also be made available to a Check-In worker who will scan the barcode to ensure that we can get a valid scan. If a new helmet barcode is needed, one will be provided. (NOTE: If you have a helmet barcode that is not from National Solo, it must be covered or removed during the event. The scanning system only recognizes that there is a barcode, it does not differentiate between National Solo vs Regional or other programs.)
    • The car will receive a quick review for numbers and class letters, plus any obvious mechanical issues. Class letters and car numbers must comply with section 3.7 -Vehicle Identification- of the Solo Rules. A vehicle's tech may be denied if class lettering and/or car numbers do  not comply.
    • Drivers will be asked if they need any SCCA or contingency decals AND if there are any changes to their event registration information (car, class, number, etc.).

If there are NO changes to the information that was used to register on MSR, they will be checked in for the event at Tech using the self-tech form and they can then return to the paddock.

If there ARE changes to the registration information that was used to register on MSR, they will KEEP their tech form and exit the Tech area with their vehicle. They must bring the tech form to the SCCA Timing Trailer at the designated time shown in the event schedule to complete any changes and be checked in for the event.

ON-SITE CHECK-IN:

Event supps will no longer be handed out when you check in but are available by request. Event Details (aka Supps) will be posted online on the Event page as well as on-site in the following areas: Tech/Impound/Lincoln Driver’s Center & on the Timing Trailer.

Schedules shown on the SCCA Online Event Page are the official schedules for the event.

Work assignments will also be posted on the Event Page. A report showing the class listing will be created and it contains information about competitors’ registrations, including work assignments. Information will be available when you tech if you ask.

If you have NO CHANGES to your registration, you can proceed through tech, turn in your tech form and you will be checked in for the event.

If you HAVE CHANGES to your registration, you can proceed through tech, but you will need to KEEP your tech form and make your way to the SCCA Timing Trailer at the designated time for registration changes (see the event schedule for times). You will be checked-in for the event at that time.

Once check-in is closed for the event, a finalized worker sheet will be posted online to the Event Page (approx 8:15am). Please check there to verify that your work assignment has not changed due to class changes, cancellations, etc. Any work assignments that have changed will be highlighted in light grey.

PENALTIES FOR INCORRECT NUMBERS OR BARCODES:
  1. Tech will confirm vehicle identification (Solo Rule 3.7) and helmet barcodes are compliant. The vehicle will not pass tech if not compliant.
  2. Competitors at the start line with the wrong number on their car, 2 sets of numbers, or the incorrect class showing will receive a warning for the first offense, a cone penalty for the second offense, and may receive a DSQ for three or more offenses at the same event.
  3. Competitors at the scanner with more than one (1) or an incorrect barcode showing on the helmet will receive a warning for the first offense, a cone penalty for the second offense and may receive a DSQ for three or more offenses at the same event.
  4. National Tour & CAM Autocross Challenge: A driver at the scanner or the start line without the appropriate helmet decal (Solo 2025) will be directed away from the start and lose the run.
  5. ProSolo: A driver at the scanner or the start line without the appropriate helmet decal (Solo 2025) will be directed to exit the stage lane. Go directly to the Tech/Impound area to get the helmet inspected and decal applied.

A. GENERAL RULES: This event is held under the SCCA Solo Rules and SCCA ProSolo National Series Rules, plus the rules and procedures found on this event page, using all Open, Open Index, and Ladies Index National classes and National Supplemental classes, as defined by the 2024 ProSolo Rules. All class changes must be approved by the Chief Steward or their designee once check-in closes.

B. COURSE WALKS: Courses will be open for walking at the following times. See Event Specific communications for more detail or specific days if the event is a multi-event weekend.

Friday: 6:15 pm – 7:30 pm
Saturday: 7:00 am – 8:20 am and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Sunday: 7:00 am – 7:50 am

D. SAFETY:

  1. A speed limit of 12 MPH will be enforced at the event site including pre-grid and grid. Tire spins, rapid speed or direction changes, or other "abnormal/unusual" driving techniques are strictly prohibited throughout the event site, other than during competition. See Event Chair for questions or problems.
  2. No tire warm-ups are allowed anywhere on the site, except in the designated start area (green cones).
  3. Drivers must always operate their vehicle(s) in a safe manner, including exiting the course. Driving in an "aggressive" manner deemed unsafe and observed by an Event Official will be handled with severity by the Chief Steward. Such actions are NOT protestable.
  4. Drivers are responsible for the actions of their crew and guests.
  5. Photographers desiring to enter a course area must be approved by the course Safety Steward and be accompanied by a spotter. A minor may not serve as a spotter.
  6. The operation of motorized vehicles, whether gas or electric powered, such as but not limited to, golf carts and other personal transportation vehicles, is limited to persons who can present a valid driver’s license.
  7. Pylons, tape, and/or other barriers will define "No Parking" areas near the course. Cars parked in such a manner that block or restrict defined driveways or entrances to course areas will be towed away without notice, at the expense of the vehicle operator/owner.
  8. Skateboards, hoverboards, Segways, scooters, bicycles, and similar conveyances may not be ridden in the Grid area.
  9. All incidents involving injury and/or property damage occurring on the event site or felt associated with the event will be reported as soon as possible to the Event Chairman or Chief Safety Steward.

E. ORDER OF RUNNING:

  1. Competition will be on two successive days with the event subdivided into three (3) sessions, plus the Challenge competitions.
  2. There will be an A grid and a B grid. Drivers are to position their cars in the grid as assigned. The car must be in the specified grid position no later than 5 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for Sessions 1 & 3 (Group 1) or prior to the Grid line being activated, which is defined as the drivers at the beginning of that Grid line being directed to the Stage Lines (Groups 2+). If a driver is not in their grid position by the deadline, they will be penalized with a DSQ of their second run on each side (PS-2) or the last run (PS-1) for that Heat.
  3. All drivers will be assigned a "home" space number for grid purposes where they may leave any necessary equipment. Do not block the access lanes between spaces. There will be a designated Second Driver Grid area.
  4. Heat assignments will be posted on the event page on the SCCA website – SCCA.com–. It is your responsibility to know when your car should be in grid.

F. PENALTIES FOR INCORRECT NUMBERS OR BARCODES:

  1. Tech will confirm vehicle identification (Solo Rule 3.7) and helmet barcodes are compliant. The vehicle will not pass tech if not compliant.
  2. Competitors at the start line with the wrong number on their car, 2 sets of numbers, or the incorrect class showing will receive a warning for the first offense, a cone penalty for the second offense and may receive a DSQ for three or more offenses at the same event.
  3. Competitors at the scanner with more than one (1) barcode showing on the helmet will receive a warning for the first offense, a cone penalty for the second offense and may receive a DSQ for three or more offenses at the same event.
  4. A driver at the scanner or the start line without the appropriate helmet decal (Solo 2024) will be directed to exit the stage lane. Go directly to the Tech/Impound area to get the helmet inspected and decal applied.

G. MINIMUM CLASS SIZE: Refer to ProSolo Rules Rule 20.8.C

  1. If any Class does not have the minimum of five (5) drivers entered and checked in by the close of registration on the evening before class competition begins, they will be bumped into the Bump Index Class for Super Challenge eligibility or the Ladies Bump Index Class for Ladies Challenge eligibility.
  2. If five (5) entered and checked in drivers do not make a start in class competition, the class will be moved into the appropriate Bump Index Class at the earliest administratively feasible point in the competition, which may be after Session 1 runs.

G. PROTEST AND APPEALS: Refer to ProSolo Rules Rule 20.10.P and ProSolo Rules Rule 20.10.Q

H. COURSE MARKERS: Refer to Solo Rules, Rule 7.8

I. RESULTS: Provisional results will be posted in impound after completion of all runs for the heat. Results will be final 30 minutes after provisional results are posted. Check final results to make sure the manufacturer is correct for your car and tire brand. Official results will be available on the event page at www.scca.com

J. TROPHIES AND AWARDS: Trophies will be awarded on Sunday (2nd ProSolo competition day on a multi-event weekend) after the last runs of regular class competition in Impound. They will not be mailed. If you leave the event early, appoint someone to receive your award.

K. EVENT SCHEDULE: Actual schedule may deviate from the published schedule due to unforeseen circumstances during the event. It is the driver’s responsibility to listen to the PA system, refer to event communications, and pay attention to activity on course.

L. COMMUNICATIONS: Please download for the Sportity app for on-site communication by the event officials. You can find the Sportity app on Google Play Store or on the Apple AppStore. The event password, once established, will be found in the "Location & Site Details" dropdown and in pre-event communication. Announcements will also be made over the PA system. Live timing can be found at sololive.scca.com.

A. DRIVER ELIGIBILITY: Refer to ProSolo Rules Rule 20.6

B. ANNUAL SCCA WAIVERS: It is highly recommended that you complete your annual waiver ahead of the event. Once completed, your annual waiver will show as a designation on the back of your membership card and is valid for the calendar year. This can then be shown at the waiver station instead of signing the SCCA waiver, both at regional and national level events. Instructions for completing your annual waiver can be found here. Armbands are still to be worn during the event to indicate that you have completed the waiver.

C. CHANGES TO YOUR REGISTRATION: If you have changes to any of your registration information and online registration is still open – go ahead and make changes in the MotorsportReg system. This will automatically correct the information that goes into the event file and will help shorten the lines at event check-in. If you need to make a change after online registration closes but before on-site check-in opens, email Tracy Lewis at tlewis@scca.com.

D. DRIVER MEETING NOTES: There will be at least four (4) ProLaunch/Novice Huddles; two on Friday, one Saturday morning and a final one on Sunday morning. Novices are encouraged to attend all huddles. Review the event schedule for the times. Changes to the event details and other items of information as well as the names of all event officials will be included in the material provided on the event page at SCCA.com. IT IS A COMPETITOR’S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE EVENT PAGE AT SCCA.COM FOR CHANGES TO THE SUPPLEMENTAL REGULATIONS.

  4. A driver at the scanner or the start line without the appropriate helmet decal (Solo 2025) will be directed to exit the stage lane. Go directly to the Tech/Impound area to get the helmet inspected and decal applied.

F. ENTRANTS AS WORKERS: ProSolo Rules Rule 20.10.D

Early work assignments that offset a normal work assignment must be pre-approved by the Event Chairman and/or staff. These assignments must be extremely limited to prevent loss of critical support during the event. Serving as a volunteer prior to the event is greatly appreciated and a key element in the success of this event. However, this does not automatically offset a normal work assignment.

G. WORKER MEETING NOTES: Workers will report to the Worker Chief at the Visit Lincoln Drivers' Center (Tech area) during the middle of the last group that is running prior to their assigned work shift. Shift A workers will report 20 minutes prior to the start of the event. Failure to report on time will result in an additional work assignment after the finish of the last shift on that day. Not complying with these rules will result in disqualification.

It is possible that your work assignment within your shift may have changed due to cancellations or class changes. A flag will be raised at the Visit Lincoln Drivers' Center to let you know it is time to check in and that someone is available to get you checked in. Specialty areas (Grid, Timing, Impound, Sound & Safety) will check in with their chiefs.

The worker sheet will be posted at the Visit Lincoln Drivers' Center, on the Sportity app and on the SCCA event page online when check-in closes so competitors can verify work assignments. It is your responsibility to know when you should report for your work assignment.

A. VEHICLE ELIGIBILITY: Competition is open to all vehicles conforming to the Open, Open Index, and Ladies Index National classes and National Supplemental classes, as defined by the 2024 ProSolo Rules.

B. DECALS:

  1. The Tire Rack® is the title sponsor for all 2024 SCCA® National Solo® events, including National ProSolo® events. Participants in these events are required to run the title sponsor decal, which is a windshield decal that is to be used at the top of the windshield. Vehicles without windshields or with plastic windshields may place the decal on the front of the car in a highly visible location approved by the Chief of Compliance. Decals other than the official Tire Rack® decal, except those required by ProSolo Staff, are prohibited on the windshield.
  2. Additional required event decals are one SCCA® (on the front) (legacy SCCA wheel is no longer accepted) and 2 ProSolo decals (one on each side).
  3. A 2D-style barcode is used by National Solo for each competitor's helmet. This barcode should be affixed to the competitor's helmet in an accessible location for scanning at the start line. Any and all other barcodes (SCCA regional or for other events) must be covered during the event so the National Solo barcode is the only one visible.

C. TECH PROCEDURES:

  1. Safety Inspections (Solo Rules 3.3.3) should be completed at the event site and will be completed by competitors using a Self-Tech form.
  2. Solo Rules 3.7 Vehicle Identification will be checked. The official Tire Rack decal and tech stickers are the only decals permitted on the windshield
  3. Competition vehicles that have a required minimum weight (Street Modified, Prepared, Modified, CAM, Extreme and Kart) will inform Tech of that weight so the weight and vehicle wheelbase can be posted on the tech sticker. This is to allow other competitors to know the declared minimum weight and to reduce any delays at the scales during event impound procedures.

E. IMPOUND PROCEDURES:

  1. All competition vehicles will be impounded per ProSolo Rules 20.10.K to assure that competitors have complied with the SCCA National Solo Rules and the Supplementary Regulations for the event. Car information verification will also be conducted in Impound.
  2. Vehicles will be impounded following the completion of each Session until released by the Chief of Impound, their designee, or the Chief Steward. The driver of each vehicle or a designated representative must remain in the impound area near the vehicle during the impound period. Karts will be allowed to be driven to the scales under close supervision by event officials. Impounded vehicles may be held until the results are audited.
  3. ProSolo officials reserve the right to inspect any or all cars to verify conformance to the rules. Drivers should be prepared to show documents of their vehicle specifications and to assist in the verification of vehicle compliance with these specifications.
  4. Competitors may observe but Impound inspectors must not be hindered in their assigned duties by anyone in any way.
  5. Impound does not act on hearsay information regarding competitor concerns. If competitors suspect a rule violation, they should file protests in accordance with the National ProSolo Rules. Rule 20.10.P, Protests.
  6. Classes that have minimum weights are required to be weighed. It is the competitors’ responsibility to know if their vehicle has a minimum weight requirement.

F. SOUND POLICY: Refer to Solo Rules Rule Appendix I. Sound requirements are strictly enforced.

Rationale: Members are asked to realize that sound level measurements are designed to help us be good neighbors to those that work or live near our events. It is not intended as a "gotcha!" to catch drivers unaware. All competitors should come to the event in good faith with appropriate equipment keeping sound levels below the limit. Intentionally "pushing the envelope" of sound levels is in poor taste and puts our sites at risk.

Exceptions to Appendix I of the Solo Rules, 2nd and 3rd paragraphs:

If a vehicle exceeds 97 dBA on any run during a session, the Sound Steward or their designated representative will notify that driver of any measurement over 97 dBA in Impound after runs are completed for that session. (2-driver cars are considered as 2 individual cars.) If a vehicle exceeds 100 dBA on any run during a session, that driver will be allowed an attempt to reduce the sound level of the vehicle before their next session. (A "time-out" per ProSolo rules section 20.10.H.15 may be used.) If a viable remedy has been attempted in the judgment of the Sound Steward or representative, the driver will be allowed to run in their next session. If the driver declines any "repair action" or the "repair" is deemed inadequate by the Sound Steward or representative, the driver will forfeit all subsequent runs in that vehicle (unless an adequate "repair action" is completed before the next session). If the vehicle exceeds 100 dBA again during a run in any subsequent session, that session will be scored DSQ (disqualified) for all runs. If a sound violation incurs a DSQ for a session, any rerun(s) taken will also be DSQ and the sound-based DSQ will stand. The number of reruns taken will be subtracted from the next remaining session.

G. TIMING AND SCORING: Refer to ProSolo Rules Section 20.10.J

  1. Class finishing positions will be determined by combining the best corrected time (or corrected index time for Index classes) from each course during the class competition, which will normally consist of two (2) runs per side per Session.
  2. Official times will be posted following the completion of each class session. Any initial questions about these results should be directed to the Chief of Impound or designate. THE TIMING & SCORING TRAILER IS OFF LIMITS FOR COMPETITORS, CREW, AND SPECTATORS unless invited to enter by an event official.
  3. Live timing is available at sololive.scca.com.

You must register for contingencies each year through the SCCA website, prior to competing for all Silver Gold, and Platinum contingency programs. In some cases, you'll need to register with the sponsor as well, so please read each program's registration requirements carefully. Decals will be available at tech inspection during each event. Bronze programs require registering and receiving decals directly from that sponsor, please refer to the program descriptions for more information.

GET THE DETAILS

Registration Policy (after online closes)

Online registration closes at 3:00 pm Central, Monday, August 26. If the event is already full we will follow the waitlist policy (see below).

Car Number Policy

Car numbers selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis.  Only one- or two-digit numbers will be allowed (i.e., 1 through 99). Exception: Where there are two drivers in one car, in one class, then the second driver MUST be 100 plus the first driver's number (99 and 199). The Motorsportsreg.com system does not allow drivers to reserve their co-driver's number. With that, if there is a conflict where someone signs up for a number and someone else who is not the co-driver signs up for the corresponding number, the person that signed up first for either the two or three-digit number is the owner of that combination. If you notice a discrepancy in numbers, please contact Tracy Lewis (tlewis@scca.com).  Motorsportreg.com provides the date/time of registrations to determine who registered first and is the rightful owner of the number combination. If desired, drivers of the same car but in different classes (open and ladies) may use the same car number. Drivers of the same car in the same class must submit separate entries. Car numbers above 199 are not allowed at National Solo events.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be made in writing.
Please contact Tracy Lewis (tlewis@scca.com) with questions or to cancel.

Please review valuable information regarding refunds below.

Partial refunds (SCCA keeps $50) for cancellations IF:
Entrant cancels PRIOR to 3:00 pm Central Monday, August 26.

NO REFUNDS for cancellations IF:
Entrant cancels AFTER 2:59 pm Central Monday, August 26.

Waitlist Policy

The Tire Rack SCCA National Solo events (ProSolo, National Tour, CAM Challenge) are adopting a revised waitlist policy for 2024:

  • Just like the 2023 Tire Rack National Solo season, the waitlist will be published to show the order in which each member is on the list, based on the order of entry receipt and the timestamp listed on the MSR registration. This is the order in which entries will move off the waitlist and into the event when a cancellation is processed. This list does not automatically update in real-time but is rather a report from the registration system that will be run periodically so that those on the waitlist can understand their current position. Given that the list is not updating in real-time, there may be names at the top of the waitlist that have already moved into the event and there may be names that have registered onto the waitlist that do not yet appear.
  • For entrants on the waitlist, there is no guarantee the entrant will get into the event.
  • As entrants on the entry list cancel, the next person in line on the waitlist will be notified via email that there has been a cancellation and they have now been moved into the event. When that entrant is moved over, they will be required to log into MSR and pay for the event (MSR does not charge waitlisted competitors). The entrant will have 24 hours to pay for the event before that entrant is placed back on the waitlist and the next entrant is put into the event.
  • We will continue to move entrants off the waitlist as we receive cancellations up until the time online registration closes.
  • After online registration closes, we will not update the waitlist online. However, if there is a cancellation after online registration closes, entrants on the waitlist will be contacted in waitlist order to let them know a spot in the event has opened. They will be instructed to contact the on-site event Administrator to claim their spot and remit payment. The waitlist will also be printed and posted in the timing trailer on Friday morning. As cancellations come in during the registration/check-in day, we will try to contact the top person on the waitlist to see if they are available and still want to get into the event that day.
  • At the end of registration on the day prior to the competition, the waitlist will be closed, and no new entries will be allowed into the event.
Car/Class Changes

Car and class changes are allowed at check-in on the day prior to competition. Any car or class changes on the days of competition require the approval of the Chief Steward for the event.
